About us
The active members of EEL may be civil engineers, who have acquired higher education in the field and who have worked in the field for at least one year after graduation.
Youth members of EEL are people studying civil engineering in an institute of higher education, and people who do not as yet have a year of work experience in civil engineering.
People who have remarkable achievements in civil engineering or services to developing the activities of EEL can be awarded honorary membership of EEL.
Professional associations in the field of civil engineering or other associations who have similar objectives with EEL and whose members are individuals, may become collective members of EEL.
With becoming a member of EEL the members have undertaken to follow the Code of Behaviour and Professional Ethics of an Engineer.
Most individual members of EEL are working civil engineers in the field of general construction and road construction. At that, the working members of EEL are active in almost all professions in the field of construction – design, design management, owner supervision, construction management, construction site management, cost estimation, training civil engineers, and research.
More than half of the individual members work for design and construction companies. The third group by size is the construction engineers working for companies engaging in owner supervision or operating as construction client’s consultants. The rest, ca 25%, work at universities or other high schools, at development companies, in the public sector or the construction material industry, at real estate companies, or at companies carrying out geotechnical and geodetic surveys.
By age group, a third is made of over 60-year-old members – therefore, there is enough valuable professional work experience at the association. To pass on the knowledge available in EEL, we encourage young engineers to join the association.
EEL is the member of Estonian Association of Engineers (EIL).
Since 1997 EEL has been part of the European Council of Civil Engineers (ECCE).
